Margaret “Maggie” Pignaloni (nee Grom), 93, of Zion, IL, formerly of Waukegan, died on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Maggie was a former member of Mother of God Parish in Waukegan and currently belonged to St. Dismas Parish. She retired from St. Therese Medical Center, Medical Records. She was a lifelong member of KSKJ Slovenian Organization of Waukegan. She loved camping, polka dancing, playing bocci ball with family and friends, and she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include her children Marge (Dwayne) Colclough of Zion, IL, Kathy (Tom) Yoder of Burlington, WI, Louis Pignaloni of Waukegan, IL, and Mary Ann Hartke of Beach Park, IL; and five grandchildren Tony, Chris (D.J.), Lidia (Nate), Bob, and Megan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Louis in 1986; her father and mother Ignatius and Margaret Grom; son-in-law Richard Hartke; and two sisters and five brothers.
Visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, December 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dismas Catholic Church, 2600 Sunset Avenue, Waukegan, IL, with a visitation at church from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Interment will be at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family have been suggested.
