Margaret "Margie" Warren, 87, a lifelong resident of Zion, died on Sunday, June 22 at Arbor View Nursing Home in Zion.
Margie was born March 16, 1921 in Zion, and was a devoted member of Christ Community Church in Zion. She worked for Zion-Benton Township High School as a bus driver for nine years, developing close and lasting relationships with other lady drivers. Margie loved the outdoors and enjoyed maintaining her home.
Survivors include son, H. Jay (Kathy) Warren of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Judy (Steve) Richards of Beach Park, IL; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Blaine) McNeil, Scott (Jacqueline) Richards, Mark Richards, Christie (James) Fruits, Shonda (Rod) Valdez, Stephanie (Davide Novelli) Richards, and Daniel Warren; ten great-grandchildren; and many loved ones and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Warren in 1986; brother, Ransom Hanon; parents, Ransom and Zella Hanon; and step-father, Claude Laurent.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL, with Pastor Jon Wiziarde of Christ Community Church of Zion officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the Camp Zion Ministry of Christ Community Church.
