Maria delRefugio Vallejo

Maria del Refugio Vallejo, 85, of Beach Park, IL, was born January 19, 1933, in Mexico, and was a member of St. Dismas Church in Waukegan, died on Monday, August 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Esperanza Zuniga, Carmina (Jesus) Lopez, Elvia (Ubaldo) Alonzo, Celia (Heriberto) Sifuentes, Carminia (Emilio) Hernandez, Maria de la Luz (Alfredo) Chavez, Antonio (Socorro) Zuniga, Manuel (Paula) Zuniga, Miguel (Maria Elena) Zuniga, and Jose "Joe (Yolanda) Zuniga; and nieces and nephews.

Maria was a person of infinite love and faith.  She was always there to help her siblings and their children as well as others in times of need.  Her nieces and nephews brought her much joy.  Maria had a love for butterflies, flowers, sewing, cooking, and the colors purple and pink. We will always remember her when we see a butterfly. Maria will live on in our hearts and in the stories we pass down.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria de la Luz Zuniga; husband, Juan Vallejo; father, Manuel Zuniga; and brother, Francisco (Alicia) Zuniga.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset, Waukegan, IL, with Father Patrick Rugen, officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park, in Beach Park. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, until the time of services at the church.
