Marilyn J. Vincent, 85, of Zion, IL went to be with her Lord July 13, 2015.
She was born September 23, 1929 to Ernest and Alma Baum in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Quincy, IL where she attended Quincy High School. Marilyn was married to William David Saylor Sr. on November 3, 1947 until his death. She worked at Western Illinois University for 16 years. While living in Macomb, she was a member of the Nazarene Church and served the Lord faithfully in various positions such as Sunday School superintendent, member on the church board and a teacher. Marilyn married Robert Vincent on December 7, 1977 and then moved to Zion. She became a member of Lakeview Church where she was an Awana leader, and worked in the nursery. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a walkers group through the park district.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Dianna Clark of Macomb, IL, William (Deb) Saylor Jr. of Auburn, IN, Pamela (Brandon) Drysdale of Beach Park, IL, Karen Fowler (Tom) of Sunland, CA; step-daughter, Tonya Vincent Green of PA; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many well loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William David Saylor Sr.; second husband, Robert Vincent; her parents; siblings, Lorraine Probst, Ernest Baum, Paul Baum, and Sally Bimson; and 2 step-daughters, Shyrel Kasper and Kim Ernst.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 17, 2015 from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. at Lakeview Church, 1821 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee, IL. Memorial donations to Lakeview Church or to Gideons International would be greatly appreciated.
