Obituary for Marjorie I. Amerighi
Marjorie I. Amerighi, 93, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed into eternity holding Jesus' hand, and with loved ones beside her at her home on Saturday, April 23, 2016. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana, on November 1 , 1922. Marge married the love of her life, John Amerighi on March 28, 1942; and they had 53 wonderful years together. Marge was a self-taught artist; and her beautiful paintings grace the homes of her family, friends and her church. John and Marge were crafters, working together in wood and other crafts, and attending many craft shows. They had been seasonal campers for many years; and made wonderful friends while at their summer home in Pardeeville, WI and in Winthrop Harbor, where they built their home in 1947. Marge continued to live there for 21 years after John's passing to their forever home in 1995. Marge is survived by her loving daughter Sandra Heathcote of Winthrop Harbor, daughter-in-law Jayne Amerighi of Winthrop Harbor; four grandchildren: Doug Heathcote of Sutton MA, Tracy (Tony) Orawiec of Beach Park, Tara (Billy) Morley of Winthrop Harbor, and Ryan (April) Amerighi of Beach Park; nine greatgrandchildren: Brandon (Becca) Orawiec, Allyssa Orawiec, Ashley Orawiec, Caitlyn Orawiec, Will, Brenna and Gianna Morley, and Reese and Cole Amerighi, a brother James Dealer, and a dear friend John Mansfield and daughter Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband John and son Steve Amerighi, son-in-law Ed Heathcote; her parents, Beulah and Carl Degler, sister Martha McIntosh, and brother Charles Degler. A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, April 30, at the Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church, with visitation from 10 - 11 :30 a.m., followed by the service and burial at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church, 600 College Avenue, where Marge was a faithful and active member for many years.
