Mark J. Brendemihl, 67, husband, father, and grandfather, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away at home surrounded by family on March 18, 2025.
Mark was born in Tomahawk, WI. He moved around with his family to Columbus, WI, to Waukegan, IL and Zion, IL before settling in Winthrop Harbor, IL. Mark married Barb Breitenstein in Juneau, WI. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukegan, IL, and the American Pool Players Association (APA). Mark had a special interest in shooting pool and if he wasn’t by a pool table he could be found communicating with people on his CB Radio.
Mark is survived by his wife, Barb Brendemihl; children, Samantha (Ben) Brendemihl, Markus Brendemihl, Abigal Brendemihl, and Lukas Brendemihl; grandchild, Hope Marie DeLeon; brothers, Andrew "Andy" Brendemihl, Anthony "Tony" Brendemihl, Benjamin Nicholas; sisters, Geraldine(Terry) Leinberger and Christine Cambell; sisters-in-law, Sue (Brad) Pederson, Sharon (Jeff) Wetherbee; brother-in-law, Ken (Joanne) Breitenstein, and many nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Brendemihl; mother, Loretta Nelson; brothers, Brian Brendemihl, Leslie Duncan Nicholas; sisters, Shannon Nicolas, Debbie Brendemihl; grandfather, Clarence Nelson; grandmother, Alyce Kennedy; mother-in-law, Shirley Krause, and father-in-law, Carl Krause.
A visitation will be held in Mark’s honor at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1310 N Frolic Ave, Waukegan, IL, on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m.
