Marlone J. Pumala, 79, of Zion, IL, died on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, WI.
Marlone was born December 10, 1933, in Waukegan, IL, and married Roy Pumala on June 16, 1950, in Waukegan. She worked for the Zion State Bank and eventually retired after the bank became National City. Marlone was a long time member of the Memorial United Methodist where she served on the Visitation Committee and with Women's Groups. She loved to bake for her family; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Survivors include her children, Brian (Joann) Pumala of Zion, Dale Pumala of Zion and Karen Goldman of Waukegan; grandchildren, Kari (Mike) Cowart, Skip (Liz) Pumala, Keith (Kim) Olsen, Kyle (Alexis) Olsen, and Chris (Dani) Pumala; great-grandchildren, Kali, Reid, Laney, Dylan, Henry, and Kaiden; and sister, Greta Mae Clegg of Winthrop Harbor, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; father and mother, Fred and Edna Mericle; and daughter-in-law, Deborah Pumala.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the Memorial United Methodist Church.
