Martha Goold

1924 — February 4, 2014

Martha A. Goold joined our Lord and angels in Heaven on February 4, 2014. She died as she lived; gently, kindly, faithfully, and greatly loved by all who knew her. Born September 5, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio. Mom and her sister, Anna Mae Palm, were raised as young girls in Sioux City, IA. Later they lived at the Home of the Good Sheperd in Sioux Falls, SD where they graduated from high school. Martha met and married, Eugene C. Goold, and had "5 beautiful daughters" as she always said! Over the years she worked as homemaker, Executive Secretary at Fansteel Metallurgical and Legal Secretary for Petroshious Law Office and was notably the most popular neighborhood Mom. While visiting her daughter, Mary Ann, she was led to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Our Mother loved reading the Bible, listening to Moody Radio, and crocheting as she prayed for her family. Our Mother will be very missed by her daughters: Margaret Earnest (Hollis); Mary Ann Goold, Ruth Stankowski (Raymond); Eugenia Durand (Paul), Patricia Munro (Geoffy); niece, Martha Rochotte (John). She also left behind 9 grandchildren: Holly, Shari, Rachel, Jordan, Jared, Martha, Lynn, Scot, and Amanda and 11 great-grandchildren: Jacqueline, Sarah, Daniel, Theodore, Cecelia, David, Ethan, Morgan, Logan, Dylan and Aiden. While our lives will never be the same without our dear Mom, may these words from one of her favorite passages, Numbers 6:24-26, be an answer to her prayer: "The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." Services will be private for the family.
