Martha N. Rebmann, 92, of Zion, IL died September 13, 2016 at the Grove at the Lake Nursing Home in Zion.
Martha was born February 17, 1924 in Flora, IL. She attended night school at Waukegan Township High School where she earned a nursing degree. She later worked as a nurse’s aid at Zion Community Hospital and at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago. Martha married Walter C. Workman until his death on June 6, 1961, then married Benjamin Rebmann until his death on September 18, 1987. In her free time, Martha enjoyed plastic canvas work making coasters, tissue boxes, wall hangings and snowmen.
Survivors include her daughter, Geneva (James) Stout of Kenosha, WI; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, Walter C. Workman and Benjamin Rebmann; 3 children, Walter Lee, George Edward, and Sharon Lyn Workman; parents, Floyd and Nellie Hockman; and 6 siblings, Robert Hockman, Lewis “Sonny” Hockman, Betty Blackwell, Virginia Garver, Ruth Hockman, and Everette Hockman.
A visitation will be held Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. with a service at 6:00 p.m. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home on at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2016 for a procession to the interment service at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL, leaving at 10:00 a.m.
