Mary M. Escobedo, 92, of Park City, IL, died on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at home. Mary was born December 8, 1918 in Arkansas, KS. She graduated from Holy Child High School in Waukegan, IL and received her degree in nursing from St. Therese School of Nursing. She worked at St. Therese Hospital Pediatrics for many years and retired her nursing career while working with Dr. Seymour Kaiz, M.D. at his practice in Waukegan. She has been a caring person to all. Survivors include her nephews, Joseph (Doris) Lopez, Bernard (Shirley) Lopez, Ron Hemersbach, John (Betty) Padilla, Paul Escobedo, and Charles (Carol) Escobedo; nieces, Elaine (Louie) Ortis, Janet (Cliff) Bradley, Kathryn (John) Holleman, Carolyn Escobedo, Marylin Escobedo, and many more nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Narcisso and Gabriella Escobedo; brothers, Valentine Escobedo and Samuel Garcia; sister, Inocencia Lopez; niece Mercedes Hemersbach; and nephews, Leo (Marie) Garcia and William Genemaras. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 624 Douglas Ave., Waukegan, IL. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations to Beach Community Church or the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
