Mary Nolen, 85, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, died on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Mary was born January 19, 1925 in Vernon, Alabama and came to this area in the early 1950's. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor. Jesus Christ was the Lord and Savior of her life. She loved her family, her special neighbors, her church family, and riding her three wheel bike all summer.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Carl; children, Richard (Jill) Nolen of Lake Wales, Florida, Dorothy Nolen of Winthrop Harbor, and Kathy (Terry) Printz of Winthrop Harbor; six grandchildren, Kelly Nolen, Haley Nolen, Ryan Philyaw, Christine Wells, David (Crystal) Printz, and Robert (Kalie) Printz; one great-grandson, Kyle Printz; and one brother, Mack (Dorothy) Crossley of Gardendale, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Bercia Winters, Frank Crossley, and Hubert Crossley; and her parents, Floyd and Celia Crossley.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 3001 9th Street, Winthrop Harbor, Illinois with Pastor Michael Brown officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Monday, January 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the Church. Memorial donations to First Baptist Church have been suggested.
