Mary Hover Parker, Age 90. Born July 12, 1930 and went home to be with the Lord on April 3, 2021.
Mary accepted Jesus as her Savior and Lord in 1953. She was a founding member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Kenosha, WI and she continued to actively serve there until her passing. She worked for Abbott Laboratories, North Chicago for 25 years and retired in 1985.
She is survived by her son John B. (Susan) Hover of Lake Villa; stepdaughter, Brenda Gale (R. Wayne) Schnell of Kenosha; grandchildren; Mary (Jamie) Keltner, Andria “Candy” (Kermit) Ruoss, Elizabeth (Doug) Study and George (Laura) Hover; great grandchildren Melissa, Christian and Rebecca Keltner, Jacob (Sarah) Ruoss, Hannah (John) Allen, Lilli Ruoss, Sasha (Jake) Mathesius, Alexandria, Simon and Caleb Study and Taylor, Gracie and Alena Hover; a brother, W. Lamar (Doris) Loper; sisters Charline Smith, Myrna Rouse and Alice Loper; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a wonderful family of brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus many of which minister at Fellowship Baptist Church in Kenosha.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, George B. “GB” Hover Jr. and Malvis R. Parker; her parents Charlie and Mary (Ross) Loper; brothers Terrel Loper, Jeffery Loper, Winston Loper, O.Herschel Loper and Billie Joe Loper; a sister, Maxine Parker; and a grandchild Jason Schnell.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Mark Yarborough of Beach Park who faithfully served as Mary’s deacon and friend for many years. He truly fulfilled God’s command to “care for widows” and the family will forever be grateful for his love and kindness.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home located at 3012 Sheridan Rd Zion, IL 60099. Interment will be held later at Sunflower Cemetery in Perkinston, MS.
