Maxine Sandretto, 82, of Port Charlotte, Florida, and formerly of Waukegan, Illinois, died on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at St. Catherine's Hospital in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
Maxine was born September 12, 1925 in Red Bay, Alabama and moved to Waukegan in 1950 from Calumet, Michigan. She retired in 1981 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in North Chicago, Illinois and prior to that had worked at Deep Freeze and during World War II worked in Panama City, Florida ship yards, doing welding for the war effort. She was a member of Moose, Elks and American Legion all of Port Charlotte.
Survivors include her two sons, Robert (Barbara) Sandretto of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois and Michael Sandretto of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; two grandchildren Daniel (Kim) Sandretto and Michelle (Daniel) Michael; five great-grandchildren Marshall and Dylan Sandretto and Jacob, Nicholas and Ryan Michael; and one sister, Irene Petty, of Zion, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; two brothers, Gilbert and Frank Hall; and her parents, Columbus and Pearl Hall.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, Illinois. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at Our Lady of Humility Church. Entombment will be later at Rest Lawn Cemetery, Port Charlotte, Florida, following funeral services in at the Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte.
