Melvin Lee "Red" Prickett, 77, of Park City, Illinois, died on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Pavilion of Waukegan. He was born June 17, 1930 in Elgin, Illinois and he retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Julia; two daughters, Sherry Ostrander and Roxann Amundsen, both of Minnesota; six grandchildren, Jim (Anne) Amundsen, Chad Amundsen, Heidi Amundsen, Lisa Ostrander, Tina Ostrander and Tammy Ostrander; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Prickett of Kenosha, Wisconsin; and five sisters, Bernice (George) Nagy of Kenosha, Millie (Amy) Jordan of Grayslake, Gladys Prickett of Gurnee, Nancy Arezina of Kenosha and Alice Smalley of Apple Valley, California.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Jr., Charles and Jerry; by two sisters, his twin sister, Mary Lou and Kathleen; and his parents, Kenneth and Louisa Prickett.
Services will be private for the family. The CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to North Point Church, 900 N. Lewis Avenue, Winthrop Harbor, IL 60096 have been suggested.
