Michael Hajewski

Michael Joseph Hajewski, 53, of Necedah, WI passed away on August 29, 2024. He was born on May 25, 1971 in Chicago to Leon and Carol Hajewski (Peter).

Mike graduated from Rolling Meadows High School in 1989 and began his long career at Continental Electrical Construction Co. as a C-Card Electrician and in 1991 and moved to Wadsworth. Mike moved up quickly to become a Foreman, his crews really enjoyed working with him until he left Continental in 2014.

In 1996 Mike moved to Zion and in 1998 he joined the Winthrop Harbor Fire Dept. obtaining the rank of Lieutenant. He was very well respected there and made many friends. He left the Fire Dept. in 2005 after moving back to Wadsworth with his family.

Mike moved to Necedah, WI in 2016 and in 2019 he joined the team at Meadow Valley Log Homes. Mike really enjoyed working there and they really enjoyed having him as Mike was a very hard worker.

Anyone that met Mike, remembered him. He had scores of friends through the years as he was kind hearted, friendly, humble and always made people laugh. Some would say that he was the life of the party. He was a loving and dedicated father to James and Jack.

Mike is survived by his sons Newport Fire/Medic James Michael Hajewski (22) and Army Private Jack Robert Hajewski (19), mother Carol A. Peter, his sister Christine L. Hajewski Hansen, his former wife Corey Kirschhoffer and sister-in-law Joyce Hayes. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Leon J. Hajewski (2008) and his brother Robert W. Hayes (2023).

A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held on October 13, 2024 from 2-5pm at The Shanty Restaurant-39895 N. US Hwy. 41, Wadsworth, IL 60083
