Milan Echevarria Gonzalez, 82, of Villalba, PR passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, in Zion, IL. He was born on October 12, 1936, in Villalba, to the late Eladio and Claudina Echevarria.
Milan proudly served in the United States Army from 1956 – 1958. He was married to Isabel and together they raised 7 children in Waukegan.
Milan retired to PR after a successful 36 year career at Stone Container. In retirement he enjoyed relaxing, gardening, and going to the casino. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Milan is preceded in death by his daughters, Mildred Huertas (1989) and Margarita Jadrich (2003).
Survivors include his wife, Isabel; children, Milan (Barbara) Echevarria of Winthrop Harbor, Alberto Echevarria of Winthrop Harbor, Raul (Rita) Echevarria of Zion, Hector Echevarria of Waukegan and Elizabeth (Jeremiah) Dorl of Gurnee; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grand children, 1 great great grandchild; 6 brothers and 6 sisters, an uncle as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
Memorial Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 with service to follow, at Congdon Funeral Home in Zion, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors in Milan’s name.
