Milton W. Canting

Milton W. Canting, 61, of Waukegan, IL, died on Monday, July 6, 2015, at Journey Care Hospice Center in Barrington, IL. Milton was born September 29, 1953, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico. He obtained a Master’s Degree from National Louis University and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Milton married Awilda Placa in 1987, in Puerto Rico. He was formerly employed by Kislak Mortgage in Miami, FL, and then was employed as a teacher at Waukegan High School. Milton’s main enjoyments in life were computers and his pet dog and cat. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Awilda; godson, Gaston (Maria) Placa II of Zion, IL; goddaughter, Jasmine Placa; brother-in-law, Gaston (Virginia) Placa of Zion, IL; and niece, Stephanie Placa of Zion, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Canting. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park, IL. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
