Myra Ann Walker (nee Parker), 68, of Beach Park, IL, died on Monday, August 4, 2008 at home and surrounded by her family.
She was born November 22, 1939 in Fulton, MS and has lived in this area all of her life. She retired in 1990 from Illinois Bell Telephone and she and her late husband, Herman owned and operated Hickory House Restaurant and Lounge in Beach Park since 1986.
Survivors include her loving children, Kimberly (Russell) Garrett of Kansas City, MO, Tina (Dan Kleinhubert) Johnston of Gurnee, IL, and Robert Johnston of Waukegan; eleven grandchildren, Scott (Kristy) Garrett, Melissa (Kevin) Groff, Lindsey (Matias) Xique, Brian Garrett, Adam Garrett, Ashley Bowcott, Conner Bowcott, Hannah Johnston, Bradley Johnston, Grace Johnston, and Owen Johnston; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Groff, Garrett Groff, and Matthew Garrett; one brother, Robert (Cathy) Parker of Fulton, MS; and many nieces, nephews and very close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Walker, in 2004; one brother, John Parker; and her parents, John and Clara Parker.
Visitation will be Friday, August 8, 2008, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Midwest Hospice.
