Razaa, Nasira S. 85, of Radcliff, Kentucky, formerly of Kenosha, Wisconsin, died after a short illness on February 19, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Born April 13, 1927 in Saint Louis, Missouri, she is predeceased by her parents, Ira T. Wall and Eloise (Tahira) Fonville of Saint Louis, Missouri, and her late husband of 45 years, Ali Razaa of Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Nasira , a devout Ahmadi Muslim, was a 50 year resident and homemaker living in Kenosha and, due to failing health, relocated to the Fort Knox, KY area to live with her daughters, Sadika Hawkins and Muneera Hill, in 2012. She loved Ahmadiyya, Jazz, Indian/Pakistani Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, President Barack Obama, cooking and cuisine, and films. Always with morals, quick wit, encouragement, and support; this intelligent strong woman raised nine (9) children and many in her Muslim community. As a local and national officer, Nasira traveled to many of her religions Women's (Lajna) conferences until her health prevented her. With her husband, she travelled to India and Pakistan in support of her faith and thirst for knowledge.
Survivors include her three sons, Harith Razaa of Chicago, Illinois, Idrees Razaa of Kenosha, WI, and Hanif Razaa of Kenosha, WI; six daughters, Aneesa Nurrudin of South Bend, IN Aliyya Jackson of Milwaukee, WI, Qudsia Hayes of Atlanta, GA, and Jameela Razaa of Aurora, CO; 26 grandchildren, over 60 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, located at 3012 Sheridan Road in Zion, IL. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial at Mount Olivet Memorial Park, located at 1436 Kenosha Road in Zion, IL.
