Oveal “Andy” Anderson, 84, of Waukegan, IL died May 10, 2016 at home with his family by his side.
He was born in Red Bay, AL. He moved to Waukegan area and lived on Greenbay Road for over 60 years. Oveal and Regina formerly owned and operated Ma and Pa’s Corner Store and Citgo in Waukegan. He was a member of Teamsters 301 Union. He was a truck driver and mechanic for RC Cola. In his free time, Oveal enjoyed driving and building race cars. He was a wonderful caring and giving man who will be missed by many.
Survivors include his children, Thomas Anderson, Cheryl (Michael) Green, and Lori (John) Davis; 7 grandchildren, Kelly, Crystal, and Andrew Green, Gary, Joseph, and Jacob Halas, and Jeffrey Krueger Jr.; 7 great-grandchildren; and 4 siblings, Lavara Nix, Joyce Schwengler, Shirley Mintern, and Nelda Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina (nee Files); daughter, Deanna Anderson; parents, Vollie and Evia Anderson; and 6 siblings.
A visitation will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Stanford officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
