Patrick H. Davis, of Zion, died on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Patrick was born in Louisville, KY, and married Mary G. Hugle on August 19, 1968. He received education with the Mel Walker School of Trades and Business. Patrick served with the United States Army in World War II and was retired from the V.A. Medical Center in North Chicago. He was a member of the American Press Association as a free lance photographer. Survivors include his wife, Mary G. Davis; children, Valerie Gurley, Keith Davis, and Toscha Manley; grandchildren, Callandra Gurley, Anthony Davis, Cameron Gurley and Deontay Barnes; great-grandchild, Aryiah Palmer; sisters, Nancy Holloway, Willamae Oglesby, and Fanny Nelon; brother, Edward (Louise) Davis; special cousin, Blonden Skipper; and a host of other cousins and nieces and nephews. Patrick was preceded in death by a brother, Oscor Davis; sisters, Ruth Jordan and Margrette Akins; and parents, Willie and Clara Davis. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with Chaplain John Davis officiating. Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
