Patrick Kelly

Patrick Joseph "PK" Kelly, 72, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, left us on September 11, 2024. He was born on September 10, 1952, in Waukegan, IL to William John and Helen Mary (nee Layafka) Kelly. He was a 1970 graduate of North Chicago High School and received a Liberal Arts Degree from Lake Forest College in 1975. Pat was united in marriage on October 1, 1977 to his high school sweetheart, Mickie Lee (nee Fisher). He worked 27 years at Abbott/Abbvie and retired in 2018. He was an avid and experienced diver and loved the boating life at North Point Marina. Pat also loved cars and the shooting sports. He was very outgoing, a loving and devoted husband, brother, cousin, nephew and friend. He was a great storyteller and enjoyed making you laugh. Pat will be remembered as "kind and gracious, a very special man". He will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Mickie L. Kelly and his sister, Paula Kelly. He was preceded in death by his father, William and his mother, Helen and his niece, Megan Petty. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the Winthrop Harbor Yacht Club on Sunday, September 22nd at 2:00 to 3:00pm gathering and memorial service at 3:00pm.
