Paul David Julius Buntrock, 95, of Bristol, Wisconsin went peacefully home to be with his Lord on July 9, 2015.
Paul was born September 17, 1919 in Friesland, Wisconsin. He graduated in 1937 from Randolph High School in Wisconsin. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the anti-aircraft battery in the Pacific Theatre. He worked for US Steel Cyclone Fence for 19 years and then Mid-Way Heating Supply over 25 years until he retired at age 70.
He served his church community that he loved so much at Christian Catholic Church in Zion, IL. Over many years he was a Sunday School superintendent, very involved with Camp Zion work parties, part of the stage crew for the annual Passion Play, a youth leader, head usher and church Deacon.
His recreational interests included family camping trips, fishing, pitching for his 16 inch softball league until he was 65 years old, bowling and cooking. But most of all he loved spending time with his loving family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ellen Marjorie Schleter, of almost 68 years; his three children, Lynda Buntrock (Tom) Rice of Salem, Wisconsin, Loren (Christy Beem) Buntrock, and Gordon (Katherine Dempsey) Buntrock; grandchildren, Teresa (John) Shemitis, Jolyn (Rocky) Baldry, Sharon Clark, Holly (Tim) Heeter, Heidi (Bill) Anderson, and Brett (Danielle) Buntrock; great-grandchildren, Noah, Hannah, Elijah, Lydia, Andrew, Joy, Taryn, Peter, Katie, and Finn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Lydia Buntrock; brothers, Gilbert and Roy; and granddaughter, Heather Joy Buntrock.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 13, 2015 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr., Zion, IL. A funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Ken Langley, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. Memorial donations to Camp Zion would greatly be appreciated.
