Pauline M. Grogan, 81, long-time resident of Beach Park, died on Friday, January 11, 2008 at Lake Forest Hospital with her family by her side.
Pauline was born August 19,1926 in Stanley, Wisconsin and moved to this area in 1930. They said it couldn't be done but at 17 years old she married Billy Grogan at 15 years old and the marriage lasted for 64 years, till death do us part. She, along with her husband, was actively involved in the family business, Beach Park Freight Lines Inc., as Vice President, for many years. Her love in life was her family and in making memories that will last in her families lives forever. She has always been one of our little angels, sent to all of us in our life time here.
Survivors include her husband Billy; children Tanya (Robert) Walker of Beach Park, Billie Jeanne (Edward) Holm of Waukegan and Paulette (Joey) Pilman of Beach Park; seven grandchildren Billy (Shelley) Walker, Shane Walker, Amy Holm, Abbey Holm, Joseph (Brezzy) Pilman, Serene Pilman and Chelsey Pilman; seven great-grandchildren Jody Walker, Austin Mink, Noah Walker, Haley Figueroa, Joseph Pilman, Jackson Lester and Collin Lester; and one sister Vivian Parker of Lindenhurst, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Jody Walker; brothers Phillip Brown, Richard Brown and Donald Tallman; and her parents Tom and Amelia Tallman.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 17, 2008, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18th, at 10:30 a.m., at the Congdon Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Corley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
