Phyllis Rae Richardson, 83, of Zion, Illinois, died on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion.
Phyllis was born November 15, 1929, in Kenosha, WI. She met Paul Richardson while roller skating, and they were married on September 10, 1949, in Kenosha. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Zion; and a past member of YWCA, T.N.T., and Silver Dollar Square Dance Clubs. Phyllis loved her entire family and enjoyed , swimming, walking, bird watching, cross stitching, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. A past hobby was crocheting Afghans for newborns in hospitals.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Paul; children, Kathleen Champine of IL, Terrance (Spring) Richardson of Durango, CO, Suzanne Ower of Beach Park, IL, Joyce (Michael)Kimball of Placerville, CO, Janet (Leslie) Moore of TN, and Carol (Lee) Jackson of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Greg, and Emily Richardson; Joseph, Daniel, Rebecca, Peter Ower, Kai and Jen; Michael Fernandez; and Andi Kimball and Michael Kimball II; six great-grandchildren; son-in-law; Dwight Ower of Beach Park, IL; and brother-in-law, Wayne Brach of WI.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gene Michael Richardson; sister, Nancy Brach; and parents, Raymond and Faye La Jeunesse.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Friends may greet the family on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
