Ralph Philip Jensen, 88, of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, from natural causes. Born on September 12, 1936, in Oak Park, Illinois, Ralph lived a full and meaningful life, surrounded by family, friends, and the many pets he loved.
Ralph was the devoted husband of Elizabeth “Liz” Jensen for 23 years. He was a proud father to his seven children: Ruth, Ralph A., Jessica, Russell, Jennifer, Erika, and Molly. He also leaves behind three stepchildren: Robert, Bryce, and Colleen, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Priscilla, and preceded in death by his brother, Paul.
Ralph attended Austin and Kelvyn Park High Schools in Chicago, Illinois, and later earned his GED. He worked for over 40 years in various roles, including 17 years at Regal China in Antioch, 18 years at Smith Tool Co./Lift-a-loft, and 24 years at Coca-Cola in Park City, Illinois. He retired at the age of 79.
A lover of animals, Ralph had a special bond with his many pets, including horses, dogs, cats and his beloved pig, Willie. He enjoyed gardening, reading historical books and biographies, antiquing for unusual elephant figurines, and people-watching. His inquisitive nature and love of life were evident to all who knew him.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Ralph’s family would like to thank everyone who offered their love and support over the years.
Ralph will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him. His legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were closest to him.
