Ralph T. Williams, 89, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at home with his loving family.
Ralph was born February 28, 1923 in Artie, WV. He worked for 20 years as a coal miner and served for 4 years in the United States Navy during World War II. After relocating to Illinois he worked for 5 years at G.B.C. in Northbrook, IL.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Gladys M. Williams (nee Shea); three daughters Hilda (Jack) Palmer of Hamilton, AL, Hazel Morse and Hannah (Kim) Evans of Winthrop Harbor, IL; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and one sister Doris Spicer of Millsboro, DE.
He was preceded in death by two sons Harvey and Dean; son-in-law Dave Morse; parents Harvey and Pearl Williams; and 9 siblings.
Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2013, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.
