Randy Friend

On the evening of July 8th, 2024, Randy Mark Friend, formerly of Zion, IL (recently Delray Beach, FL), passed away due to complications from a neuromuscular disease. He was 68 years old. Randy was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin to William and Betty (Marschner) Friend on June 9th, 1956. He died while serving as President of the H.A. Friend and Company, where he worked since high school. 

Randy put his faith in Jesus Christ at a young age and was a beloved husband, father, uncle, brother-in-law, manager, and friend. He enjoyed nothing more than working at the family business alongside his father and more recently his son. He loved spending time with his wife and family, traveling, watching the Packers, doing projects around the house and working for the company his grandfather started in 1908. 

Randy is preceded in death by his father William (2018), and his mother Betty (2022). He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cindy (Russell) Friend, daughter Danielle (Igor) Sadovyi, son Eric Friend, father-in-law LV Russell, one sister Jill Friend, one brother Kerry (Carol) Friend, sister and brother-in-law Debbie (Russell) and Joel Aldridge, nephews, Joel Aldridge, Duell (Janie) Aldridge and Daryl (Mary Katherine) Aldridge, Jonathon Friend. Additionally 3 great nephews, and 1 great niece. 

Visitation will take place Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Congdon Funeral Home from 9:30-11:00 am with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Entombment to follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.
