Reginald M. Collymore, 94, of Grayslake, IL passed away June 1, 2018 in Long Grove.
Reginald was born January 29, 1924, the son of Walter and Bertha Collymore. On May 1, 1945, he married June Burnett at Christ Episcopal Church in Waukegan. He attended Zion Benton High School and was a 50 year resident of Zion. He was a member of Annunciation of Our Lady Episcopal Church in Gurnee and a retired Postal Worker. Reginald proudly served his country during WWII and is a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, dancing, hosting dinners and traveling. He liked model trains, Wii Bowling and volunteering his time with the Gurnee Park District.
Reginald is survived by his sons, Donald Collymore and Phillip (Lisa) Collymore; grandchildren, Gary, Chris and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Ever; sister, Harriet Hanna; daughter-in-law, Gloria Collymore and his loving companion of 17 years, Doris Sundell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 55 years, June and eight brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL 60099. Interment will be private for the family. Memorial donations in Reginald’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Annunciation of Our Lady Episcopal Church.
