Reva Booth

1915 — April 25, 2009

Reva Booth died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion, shortly before her 94th birthday. She was born in Tremont, MS, to Mellie and James Davison on May 4, 1915. Reva met the love of her life, Alvie Booth, while they were both starring in a high school play called, "Eyes of Love". They were married on July 15, 1934. After the birth of their first child James, they moved to Zion where they both worked for Zion Industries. Their daughter, Glenda, was born shortly thereafter. Reva was the matriarch of her family and she couldn't have been more proud of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with them. In her spare time, she tended to her flower gardens as she would her family. Reva was also an avid crocheter, and made a blanket for everyone in her family. Survivors include her son, James (Jackie) Booth; daughter, Glenda (Chuck) Clark; grandchildren, Lorrie (Mike) Sellers, Randy (Sonja) Booth, Peri Kerber, Sean, (Andria) Booth, Jamie (Rich) Shirling, James Booth Jr. and Leah (Don) Straight (nee Clark); 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie; granddaughter, Rhonda Christenson (nee Clark), and grandson, Russell Booth. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Rev. Cheryl Esbrook, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the Memorial United Methodist Church.
