Richard “Dick” William Alshouse, 72, of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2021. Dick was born January 18, 1949 in Waukegan, IL to William and Rachel Alshouse and was raised in Zion. He married Veronica Szostak on May 17, 1975 at CCC in Zion. Dick was a graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School, had an associates degree in Architecture, and retired as a contract manager from Naval Station Great Lakes. Dick was proud to have served his country with the United States Navy and served on the USS Coral Sea. He was a member of the Zion-Benton American Legion Post 865 and was a Boy Scout leader and volunteer. Richard is survived by his wife of 46 years, Veronica; children, Thomas (Katherine) Alshouse, and Sarah (Benjamin) Rockey; grandchildren, Madelyn Alshouse and Benny Rockey; and sister, Susan Otterbacher. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Theron Otterbacher. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, IL. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment service with military honors will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
