Richard Douglas Jackson, 66, passed away on January 16, 2025 at his home in Beach Park, IL.
Richard was born on May 29, 1958 in Woodstock, IL the son of Frank Edward and Audrey Anne (Eising) Jackson. He specialized in cabinetry architecture and design, and worked at North Shore Stairs. Rich was a part of a hiking group that traveled the U.S on backpack and camping trips. Rich had 2 bad knees, but that never held him back from traveling. He made the best of it and hiked with 2 trekking poles, and never steered away from a challenging hike. He loved family vacations and spending as much time as possible for his 3 kids, flying all over the country to be with them. Rich had no fear, and made the best of the worst situations. When he wasn't traveling he was spending time in his garden or researching how to be a better gardener. He loved to cook, fish, hunt, boat, and do woodworking. He had more hobbies than he could manage and enjoyed them all to the fullest.
Richard is survived by his children, Douglas (Onya) Jackson of IL, Stephanie (Joshua) Lloyd of Texas, and Bryan Jackson of Mexico; siblings, Dave (Valerie) Jackson, Don Jackson, Dan(Tammy) Jackson, and Jeff(Allison) Jackson; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Megan Miranda Jackson; and parents, Frank and Audrey Jackson.
