Richard P. Krapf, 81, of Beach Park, IL died November 15, 2014 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion. Richard was born April 24, 1933 in Waukegan, IL.Richard served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955.He worked at Johnson Motors for 30 years, was a proud Teacher's aide at Zion-Benton Township High School for 9 years, and also worked at Larsen's Florist in Waukegan. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball, crossword puzzles, and breakfast's with friends and family. Richard was a devoted member of St. Dismas Catholic Church, where he was mass coordinator, and also a part of the SPRED program. He was a life long Chicago White Sox, Notre Dame, and Chicago/Arizona Cardinal's fan. He was the beloved father of, Linda Cavallari of Gurnee, Richard S. (Jan) Krapf of Waukegan, and Cynthia C. (Neal) Johnson of Gurnee; grandchildren, Deacon Nicolas Cavallari, Laura (Tom) O'Connor, Erica Johnson and Brett Johnson; a great-grandson, George; brother, Leonard (Jean) Krapf of Beach Park, and many other extended family members. Richard was preceded in death by his adored wife, Dorothy; his parents; brother, Ronnie Krapf; and a son-in-law, George Cavallari. A visitation will be held Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A memorial mass will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset Ave., Waukegan. Interment will be held at a later date at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Dismas Church would be appreciated.
