Richard Simpson

Richard “Rick” Allen Simpson, 81, of Clear Lake, SD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 surrounded by family.

Richard was born December 21, 1942 in Waukegan, IL to Francis and Mildred (Hurley) Simpson. He married Nancy Stuttle and would spend 60 years together before her passing. Together they enjoyed shooting pool and bowling. They were members of the Moose Lodge and Eagle Club. Richard was always surrounded by friends and the life of the party. When not spending time with friends, he could be found at home watching sports as an avid fan of football and baseball. Richard also enjoyed playing Cribbage, Chess, and Pinnacle.

Richard is survived by his children; Paula (Thomas) LaBarbera, SD, Robert Simpson, OR, Deborah (Bobby) Moore, TN and Lynn Simpson, IL; seven grandchildren; Christian (Evelyn), Anthony (Lisa), Adam (Malai), Michael (Jessica), Samantha, Morgan (Harrison) and Dakota; 12 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Aliza, Izaiah and Aria, Lucina, Vincent and Samuel, Gavin and Malachi, Skyler, Alleah, Paisley and Harper; sister, Gertrude Kingfisher, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Simpson; parents, Francis and Mildred (Hurley) Simpson and brother, Ralph Simpson.

Graveside service will take place Monday, September 23, 2024 at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, Il at 11:00am.
