Richard George Wilczenski, of Beach Park, Illinois, formerly of Chicago, passed away December 9, 2023 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Richard was born June 9, 1963 to Thomas and Diana Wilczenski in Minot, North Dakota.
Richard graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in Chicago. He attended the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle Campus and Phoenix University. Richard was a member of the Illinois Air National Guard from 1982 to 1988. He married the love of his life, Diane Scarpelli, May 28, 1988 in Chicago, IL at St. Ferdinand Church. Richard was a member of Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church for many years. He was a coordinator at the church for bible study and an Eucharistic Minister.
He enjoyed astronomy, photography, music, cruises, and loved family camping when he was younger. Richard had a big heart and a gentle soul with a sense of humor. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law, and friend to many.
Richard is survived by his wife, Diane nee Scarpelli; mother, Diana Wilczenski nee Salski; sister, Lisa (Jim) Mignogna; nieces and nephews, Cori, Kevin (Destinee), Nicole (Elliott), Alyssa (Joe), Christopher and Michael; great niece, Palmer Rose; mother-in-law, Rose Scarpelli; brother-in-law, Anthony (Diana) Scarpelli and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Wilczenski.
Visitation will take place at the Congdon Funeral home, Tuesday December 19, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A second visitation will take place at Congdon Funeral Home Wednesday at 8:30 am until final viewing followed by a procession to Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church in Beach Park, IL for a 10:00 mass of Christian Burial. Interment to take place at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Humility Catholic School to the “Berets Scholarship Fund” or to the Big Dreams for Little Hearts organization at www.bigdreamsforlittlehearts.com
