Robert Butler

Robert “Bob” Butler, 73, of Winthrop Harbor, IL and formerly of Zion, died on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at home. He was born June 1, 1942 in Waukegan, grew up in Zion, and graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School Class of 1960. Bob served his country with the United States Army. Bob was Broker and Co-Owner of Poe & Poe Realtors in Lake County, IL. He also enjoyed his boat on Lake Michigan and his Northpoint Marina friends and he enjoyed playing tennis. Survivors include his wife of 41 years Jean; siblings Richard (Marty) Butler of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Sondra (Jess) Hinkle of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and James (Judi) Butler of Marenisco, MI; brother-in-law Richard (Sue) Massarini of Marinette, WI; sister-in-law Jane Massarini of Gurnee, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and an aunt. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Maurice and Ethel Butler; by his father-in-law Doreno Massarini; and by his step father-in-law and mother-in-law Ed and Jennie McDaniel. Visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 2016, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private for the family. Memorial donations to Safe Harbor Humane Society, 7811 - 60th Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53142 have been suggested.
