Robert Guy Epker Sr.

Robert Guy Epker Sr., age 81, of Lake Villa, IL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and four children one day after his 63rd wedding anniversary on May 18, 2015. Bob was born on June 25, 1933, in Waukegan, Illinois, and was raised by his late mother Ruth and step-father, Bill Fowles. The youngest of three children, Bob grew up in the Waukegan area and attended Waukegan High School. He met the love of his life, Bonita "Bonnie" Peterson, at the Waukegan Roller Rink and they were married on May 17, 1952, shortly before Bob was shipped off to Korea where he served with the U.S. Army. Bob worked for Johnson Motors before retiring in 1995. His interests included NASCAR, the Chicago Bears, the Cubs, playing cards according to "his rules", fishing, and the last 12 summers up in Door County. Survivors include his loving wife, Bonita "Bonnie" Epker; his four children, Pam (William) Clark, Debbie (Stan) Wegrzyn, Bob Epker Jr., and Caryn (Frank) Moskal; eight grandchildren, Billy, Bree, Branden, Tracey, Michael, Rayley, Bobby III, and Austin; and by his eight great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his sister, Ruth; brother, Bernie; and by nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL Interment will be private.
