Robert “Bob” Kasper, 84, of Zion, IL died July 11, 2015 at United Hospital System in Kenosha, WI.
Bob was born April 12, 1931 in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago and graduated from Carthage College in 1973 with a bachelor of science. He married his wife Lillian on November 1, 1952, and was married for 62 years until her death in 2014. Bob was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, IL. After working for Fansteel, he spent 28 years at American Motors/Chrysler. He enjoyed rummage sales, fishing, spending time with family, loving life, laughing and reading books.
He is survived by his children, Mary Kasper of Zion, IL, Marilyn Smith of Zion, IL, Robert Kasper Jr., Kenneth (Marie) Kasper of Almond, WI, and Diane (Bill) McGoldrick of Las Vegas, Nevada; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Tom) Caeser of IL; sister-in-law, Paula Farell of Bolingbrook, IL; niece, Linda Osinski of VA; 3 nephews, Theodore, Michael, and Steven Caeser; and his constant companion and sidekick, Mable.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; daughter, Marion Gutka; granddaughter, Susan Percy; and his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park, IL. Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL, and again Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass at the church. Interment will be held at All Saints Cemetery, Pleasant Prairie, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
