Robert Marcinkus, 62, of Waukegan, passed away October 13, 2015 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Robert was born July 24, 1953 in Waukegan. He was a graduate of Waukegan High School. Robert married Doris Emerson on August 8, 1983. He was employed by Johns-Manville, Kiley Developmental Center and Nosco Printing, and was a member of the Moose Lodge. Robert was a lifelong Green Bay Packer and Chicago White Sox fan. He was an outstanding baseball, basketball and softball player in his younger days and was also a very good bowler for many years. Robert enjoyed coaching little league baseball for 8 years and was very proud of his championship team.
Robert is survived by his wife, Doris Marcinkus; loving father to son Jeremy (Stacy) Worklan; daughter Megan Marcinkus and son Tony Marcinkus; he cherished his grandchildren Kyla Marcinkus, and Van, Nicky, Gavin and Brody Worklan; sister Mary Knevitt; brothers Joe (Shirley) Leonowitz and John (Janet) Marcinkus; sister-in-law Sheila (Dave) Pfeifer; cousins Barbara Lind and Frank Marcinkus; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Antoinette Marcinkus; aunt Ann Marcinkus; and uncles Nicholas, Peter, Ben and Frank Marcinkus.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Friends may greet the family from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the SEDOL Foundation, or to the family.
