Robert Morrison

Robert L. Morrison, 90, of Beach Park, went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2011 at the Westmoreland Nursing Center in Lake Forest. Robert was born May 14, 1921 in Zion. He was a Veteran of WWII, having served with the Navy in the South Pacific. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Zion. In 1986 he retired as the Finance Director for the County of Lake. Robert was a past president of Beach Park School Board and Beach Park Band Boosters. He served on the boards of Immanuel Baptist Church and Christ Community Church. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at family gatherings that included his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also passionate about maintaining his landscaping and gardening. Robert is survived by his children, Robert D. (Shirley) Morrison of Long Grove, Dr. J. Kenneth (Lynn) Morrison of Delavan, WI, Cheryl Williams of Oswego, IL, Jeff Morrison of Elliston, VA, and Debi (Greg) Gann of Beach Park; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters Madge ("Chris") Christensen of Scottsdale, AZ, and Linda (Bill) Miller of Prescott, AZ. He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl; his Father and Mother; and one brother Floyd Morrison. Visitation will be Friday, January 6, 2012, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 7th, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, with Pastor Jon Wiziarde officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to either Westmoreland Nursing Home, 660 N Westmoreland Dr., Lake Forest, IL, or Christ Community Church Missions have been suggested.
