Robert G. Pfleger, 78, of Zion, IL, died on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Vista East Medical Center, Waukegan, IL.
Robert was born May 10, 1934, in Plymouth, WI. He married Viola Kulow on May 7, 1955, in Plymouth. Robert was retired from Johns-Manville where he had been employed for 42 years and was a member of the JM Club. He also was a Past Governor of the Zion Moose #667, Boy Scout Master of Troop #62 of Zion, and a member of the Winthrop Harbor VFW. Robert loved the Cubs and Bears, fishing, bowling, and liked to predict football scores for the weekly contest in the ZB News. He also had served with the Wisconsin National Guard.
Survivors include his children, Susan (Clayton) Hastings of Beach Park, IL, Derise Fowler of Beach Park, IL, William (Cindy) Pfleger of Zion, IL, Peter (Rebecca) Pfleger of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Carol (Will) Hollen of Waukegan, IL; 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Hrasky of Peterborough, New Hampshire; and 3 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Pfleger in 2009; son, Robert Pfleger; and brother, Eugene Pfleger.
A Defending Circle Memorial Ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at 12:00 p. m. at the Zion-Benton Moose Lodge #667, 41517 N. Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Lodge. Memorial donations are suggested to the Zion-Benton Moose #667.
