Robin Morris Smith II was the first born to Robin Morris Smith, Sr and April Lynette (Pryor) Smith on
August 30, 1984 in Indianapolis, IN. Robin was the eldest of four, with three younger brothers, Phillip,
Joseph and Randall. Robin also has an older half-sister, Tammi. Robin had a special bond with his
siblings, two of which preceded him in homegoing, Phillip and Joseph.
Robin spent most of his childhood in Houston, Texas where he built lasting friendships that continued
into adulthood. Robin was an avid sports fan, looking forward to football season and watching his
Pittsburgh Steelers. But he most loved playing golf, which he developed a love for from learning and
being on the course with his Dad. Robin also enjoyed playing chess, videogames, and poker. One of his
poker buddies, is his friend, Ryan, whom he met in college.
Robin, also enjoyed cars, was a music lover and was an avid cinephile, with love for movies such as,
Contact, the Fifth Element, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and the Matrix and Fast and Furious
series.
Robin considered himself somewhat of a creative prodigy. As a young child, spending most of his free
time designing futuristic concepts for automobiles, clothing lines, beauty products and tech equipment.
So this artistic soul obtained his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the International Academy
of Technology and Design in Chicago, IL. Robin developed friendships working at the Navy Exchange and
other large corporations as a graphic designer.
But soon discovered he wasn't as fulfilled as an artist due to all the corporate constraints placed on him.
From there he continued his artistic pursuits as a freelance designer.
The wonderful world of freelance gave him far greater artistic freedom and allowed him to showcase
what he could really do. Robin designed/customized, painted and sold acrylic works of art, producing a
gallery in the home.
Robin obtained his CDL license and worked in transportation which afforded him flexibility in his
schedule.
Robin passed on August 20, 2021. He will be survived by his wife, Shatara Deonna Davis, married on
April 25, 2018 (25 was his favorite number), whom he befriended in 2006 working at the Navy Exchange.
The two have a daughter, Keelyn Gray Smith, born March 2020. Robin also has an older daughter,
Londyn Amaya Smith, born June 2016, from previous relationship. Also survived by his parents, brother,
Randall, a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.
Robin’s exuberant energy, kindness and humor was appreciated and loved and will be missed by many.
