Roger Allen Krebs of Zion, Illinois, passed away March 27, 2025 in North Chicago, Illinois. He was born November 21, 1941, in Douglas County, Minnesota to parents Edward and Edna Krebs.
He resided in Wilmette, Ill., Lake Geneva, Wis.; Deming, New Mexico; Waukesha, Wisconsin.
He married Gail Andrea Krebs (nee Nelson) on April 17, 1982 in Wilmette, Illinois. Roger graduated from Racine Lutheran High School in 1960. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Taconic with tours in the Mediterranean and Caribbean Seas.
He was a banker for many years at First National Bank of Chicago, Madison Bank in Chicago and The Wilmette Bank. Before retiring, he owned an art store, Alen Rogers Gallery, in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
At various times, he had been a member of the Jaycees, the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, American Legion and Sons of the American Revolution.
He is survived by his wife, his two daughters Constance Peterson (David) and Caron Smith (Scott), as well as a step-daughter Britt Westmacott and step-son Ian Westmacott (Paula). He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Christopher Peterson (Michaella), Michael Peterson, Martin Smith, Dwight Smith, Ariel Dufur (Andrew), Ashley Jackson (Aaron) and Devin Westmacott; and five great-grandchildren. His brother Ronald Krebs (Lisa) and sister Dona Vosberg (Marlan) also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Edna (VanAmber) Krebs, and his brother Dale Krebs (Nancy).
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. until the time of his memorial service at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1800 23rd St., Zion, Illinois.
