Ronald J. "Ron" Lanier, 44, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, formerly of Waukegan, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 10, 2010, in Kenosha, WI.
Ron was born December 21, 1965, in Waukegan, IL, and was a 1984 graduate of the former Waukegan East High School. He married his soul mate, Sheri Welch on April 22, 1998, in Clearwater, FL. Ron worked various jobs over his life, but spent the last years of his life as a custom carpenter and contractor installing kitchen cabinets and countertops. His passion for life and contagious laugh touched everyone who knew him. He was an avid snowmobiler and motorcyclist that lived every day "full throttle". He was a devoted Denver Broncos fan and also supported the Chicago Blackhawks.
Survivors include his wife, Sheri; mother, Delores (Brunell) Lanier of Hurley, WI; sister, Linda (Greg) McBee of Winthrop Harbor, IL; brother, Robert Lanier of Hurley, WI; uncle, Doug Brunell of Hurley, WI; and nephew, Christopher (Melonie) Lanier of Aniwa, WI, and many other family and friends too numerous to name.
Ron was a loyal husband and friend, and his presence will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his father, James H. Lanier in 2002.
Visitation will be Friday, December 17, 2010 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Interment is private for the family.
