Roseann M. Garrett

July 20, 1959 — December 16, 2024

Roseann Marie Garrett, 65, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024 in Northbrook, IL.

Roseann was born on July 20, 1959 in Waukegan, IL. On November 23,1974 she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She graduated from North Chicago High School in 1977. After graduation she worked at Baxter Laboratories for 13 years and later at Vista Hospital as a part-time pharmacy technician for 25 years.

However, Roseann’s most important and loved career began in April 1978 when she became a full-time minister/pioneer with the North Chicago Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She cherished her door-to-door ministry; it was constantly on her mind to think of ways to reach people and to be prepared to give an informal witness to everyone she met. Her zeal continued strong for the next 46 years. Even her time in the nursing home was spent readily sharing her hope for the future with every person she came in contact with.

Roseann’s compassion and love didn't stop there. She especially found great joy in giving of herself to help others. This was reflected not only in her loving care for her mother, but also for many of her spiritual brothers and sisters in need. This included picking up many of the older friends for meetings and driving them in the field ministry.

Roseann loved to travel, visiting New York/Bethel, Mexico, Canada, Scotland, Spain, Turkey, and Greece to name a few. On these trips, her fondest memories included meeting fellow worshippers of Jehovah and searching for the softest leather available. Her generosity was felt by her willingness to share anything that she had, including her precious Coach purses. She also enjoyed watching funny cat videos and collecting pens and cat memorabilia.

Roseann is survived by two brothers, Richard (Terri) Garrett of Antioch, IL, Randy (Debbie) Garrett of Newburgh, NY, one sister Rebecca Garrett of Waukegan, IL, two nieces Courtney (Ryan) Gorski, Savannah (James) Young, three nephews Ryan (Lynn) Garrett, Tyler Garrett, and John Garrett, and her adopted family member, Cydney Mims.

She was preceded in death by her parents Billy and Lillian, her brother Robert, and niece Lindsay.

Her memorial service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2222 Argonne Drive, North Chicago, IL. Visitation starts at 11:30 a.m. followed by a discourse at 12:30 p.m., also available via Zoom.
