Rosemarie “Rosie” (Spliethoff) Rundle of Pleasant Prairie, passed away surrounded by her family Friday, February 2nd, 2018.

Rosie was born in Freeport, IL on September 14, 1940 to the late Engelbert and Elsa Spliethoff.  She was educated in the schools in Freeport, complete nurses training at St. Luke’s School of Nursing (Chicago) in 1963, then went on to receive her Bachelor degree from North Central College (Naperville) in 1964. She later received her Masters degree in health education from George Williams College in 1983. After working in hospitals for several years, she became the school nurse at Zion-Benton Township for 19 years. She was last employed at the Zion Clinic for Dr. John Dunlop until her retirement in 2011.

On January 19th, 1963, she married Myron “Mike” Rundle in Freeport, IL. He preceded her in death in 1988.  During her free time, Rosie was an expert knitter, enjoyed sewing, crafting needlework projects, and loved making homemade cards along with other projects.  Rosie frequently gave away her projects as gifts.

She was a member of Crossway Community Church in Bristol, WI, where she enjoyed the fellowship of her care group until it became too difficult to go out, but she always warmly welcomed visitors. She devoted her life to her Lord and Savior and her family and friends.

She is survived by her son Jeff (Vicki) Rundle of Antioch, her daughter, Michelle (Doug Sowden) Rundle of Pleasant Prairie, her nieces and nephews, and her grandchildren, Max, Ashley, and Zach Rundle. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Rundle of Broadhead, WI, her brother-in-law Robert Craig, as well as her lifelong friend Mary-Ann Anthony, and her favorite snuggle-buddy, her little dog Chloe. Rosie and Chloe would often take their naps together on the recliner.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her infant brother, John and her sisters, Eleanore Kato of Farmington Hills, MI, and Mildred Craig of Naperville, IL.

Visitation will be held at Crossway Community Church located at 13905 75th St. in Bristol, WI on Saturday, February 10th, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with a service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Circle of Hope located at 8208 43rd Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53142 or to Crossway Community Church have been suggested.
