Roy Charles Evans, 65, of Bristol, Wisconsin died August 4, 2010. Roy was born March 16, 1945 in Chico, California. Roy cowboyed throughout the West for 25 years. He met Kathleen Woods in 1991 while he was head wrangler at Lazy K Bar Ranch outside of Phoenix, Arizona. He and Kathleen married in 1992 and settled in Bristol. He shod horses and owned the Farriers Research Center in Bristol until retiring in 1999. He was a member of Meadowridge Baptist Church in Zion, Illinois. Roy was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Roy is survived by five children Dillon Evans of Bristol, Monica (Jeremy) Kitchen, Tracey Evans, and Cody Evans all of Marysville, California, and Dallas Evans at home in Bristol, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; his mother Macel Evans of Paradise, California; brothers and sisters David (Toni) Evans, Anita (Al) Franco, Cliff Evans, and Bonnie (Dan) Porthouse; mother-in-law Ruth Woods; brothers-in-law Ralph Woods, Russell (Patti) Woods and Brian (Gina) Woods; as well as other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Meadowridge Baptist Church, 4500 Rte. 173, Zion, IL. Interment will follow at the Bristol-Paris Cemetery, Paris Township, Wisconsin, A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
