Russell H. LeBeau Sr., 78, passed away August 2, 2018.
Russell was born June 5, 1940 in Massachusetts to Eleanor & Russell Joseph LeBeau. Throughout his lifetime, he would eventually live in Waukegan, Beach Park, and ultimately, Zion, Illinois. On August 23, 1969, he would marry the love of his life, Veronica “Ronney” Suwe, and stayed married for nearly 49 years. He was a Civil Service Instructor at the Navy Electronics School at Great Lakes Naval Base, a veteran of the United States Air Force, enlisting in the Air Force National Guard for 20 years, and 5 years in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church, The Knights of Columbus, The American Legion, and has participated in Street Scenes at Carmel High School for 35 years.
A past member of several choruses and choirs, including the Gerry Traxler Chorus and Barbershop Choruses. He was also a member of the Sportscar Club. He was also active for many years in the Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his loving wife, Veronica, his five daughters, Rachelle Manieri of Waukegan, Renee (Brian) LeBeau Worwa of Gurnee, Roxanne (Dan) Otterbacher of Zion, Rita LeBeau of Beach Park, Diana Fischbach of Waukegan, and his only son, Russell (Diane) H. LeBeau Jr; his brother, Ernest "Sonny" LeBeau of Cheshire, MA; his 15 grandchildren, Lukas, Matthias, Nanet, & Katie Manieri, Tyler & Veronica Worwa, Jerred & Nicolette Otterbacher, Courtney Tekampe, and Trey, Hunter & Chase LeBeau, and Jacy Wilson, & Dalila LeBeau, T.J. Quill; 9 nieces and nephews of Massachusetts; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Langer McDonough.
A Visitation will be held at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 7 & 8, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Funeral Mass following on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Of Humility Catholic Church, 10655 West Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, Illinois.
