Russell Walters

Russell K. "Russ" Walters, 50, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, formerly of Zion, IL, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, August 6, 2010, at home. Russ was born December 9, 1959, in Waukegan, IL, and was a1978 graduate of Mechanicsburg Area High School, Mechanicsburg, PA. He was previously employed for Maki Construction in Antioch, IL, and most recently, Wal-Mart in Zion. Russ served as a volunteer firefighter for the Upper Allen Township Fire Department in PA, for about 8 years. He was a man who was liked by all. Survivors include his fiance, Kathy P. Crawford of Winthrop Harbor; mother, Shirley Walters of Beach Park, sister, Linda (Hal) Birky of Wadsworth, IL; brother, Jeffrey S. Walters of Zion, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family; and a special little girl, Katie who loved her "Unky". He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Walters in 1994; and sister, Sharon Tjader in 2006. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Church, 1821 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
