Sandy Nelson, 72, formerly of Zion, IL, died peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.
Sandy was born November 12, 1939, in Waukegan, IL, and married David Nelson on May 21, 1960, in Nebraska. She served her country with the United States Air Force. Sandy worked for the Zion Library as the "Bookmobile Lady" and also did volunteer work at other local libraries. She had an unspoken great love for all, a generous heart and a faith anchored in Christ and his promises.
Survivors include her children, Pam (Fred) Wagner of Silver Lake, WI, John (Shawn) Nelson of Fortson, GA , and Kimberly (Guy) Franz of Spring Grove, IL; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sister, Jackey Brown of FL; brother, Terry Petrosky of IL; many nieces and nephews and other family.
She was preceded in death by her husband David in 1982; father and mother, John and Elizabeth Petrosky; and a baby brother.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, 1436 Kenosha Rd., Zion, IL.
